All our curtains are easy to hang onto your pole or track, without any tools or special skills. Remember to iron your new curtains before hanging!

How to hang Eyelet / Grommet, Tab Top and Rod Pocket curtains onto a pole

  1. Remove your pole from the brackets. Sometimes there are screws to remove that secure the bracket to the pole (remember to screw these back at the end)
  2. For Eyelet / Grommet and Tab Top: simply thread your curtain panels onto the pole through the rings or tabs. For Rod Pocket: you may need to remove the end ornament from your pole first (there is usually a small screw holding this in place) before threading the curtain panels onto the pole
  3. Raise your pole with the curtains attached back up to the bracket. You may want to get someone to help with this part as it could be quite heavy. For Eyelet / Grommet and Tab Top curtains make sure the last ring/tab on each side sits to the outside of the bracket - this is to hold the outside edge of the curtain in place when drawn.

How to hang Pinch Pleat curtains onto a track, or pole with rings

  1. Lay your curtain down on a flat surface with the heading material facing up (so you can see the fabric loops)
  2. Starting at one edge, slide the long edge of a hook under the stitched loop (you can choose the top, middle, or bottom row - this lets you make adjustments in the height of the curtain when hung)
  3. Insert a few hooks and hang the curtain up from your track or pole with rings, to check the length and ensure they hang well. Adjust height by switching to a different row as necessary
  4. If satisfied with the length, remove the curtain and insert the rest of the hooks.
  5. Thread the hooks on to the rings hanging from your track (or to the curtain rings attached to your pole). If using rings on a pole make sure one ring sits outside the bracket at each side, to fix the curtain in place when drawn.

How to hang Pencil Pleat curtains onto a track, or pole with rings

  1. Lay your curtain down on a flat surface with the heading material facing up (so you can see the fabric loops)
  2. Starting at one edge, take a "W" hook and slide the first prong upwards through the stitched loop (you can choose the top, middle, or bottom row - this lets you make adjustments in the height of the curtain when hung)
  3. Use your fingers to pinch the curtain so that you skip a column, then thread the next prong of the "W" hook into the stitched loop of the third column
  4. Continue threading every other column until all the prongs of the "W" hook have been threaded. Hang the curtain up from your track or pole with rings, to check the length and ensure they hang well. Adjust height by switching to a different row as necessary
  5. If satisfied with the length, remove the curtain and repeat threading with the remaining "W" hooks until all the fabric in the header has been "gathered" together into a pleat. Depending on your preferences you can leave some empty columns in between hooks
  6. Thread the hooks on to the rings hanging from your track (or to the curtain rings attached to your pole). If using rings on a pole make sure one ring sits outside the bracket at each side, to fix the curtain in place when drawn.
